For those who have driven an electric car, the experience of driving the "power is always on" must have impressed you. Due to their environmental benefits and many other advantages, the popularity of electric cars is growing as fast as ever. But despite the widespread acceptance of electric cars, why does "electric car anxiety" still exist?
What is "electric vehicle anxiety":
Car owners worry about mileage, and manufacturers care about safety and cost.
If you ask car owners "Why don't you choose an electric car", it may be that "range anxiety" is one of the main reasons. Range anxiety is divided into two aspects: one is how far an electric car can go, which involves the battery capacity; the second is whether the charging of the electric car is fast enough. If the latter can be solved perfectly, the problem of the former is not so deep. It's like some cars, although the tank is small, the benefit is that it is easy to fill, so it will not be a fatal disadvantage.
Today’s available automotive fast chargers provide 50 to 200 kW of power, typically adding nearly 200 miles of driving range in an hour. The industry is currently developing high-power charging (HPC) technology to provide the same amount of charge (about 200 miles of range) in 10 minutes or less. However, fast charging solutions for cars are not like fast charging your phone. High-power charging means charging an electric car 1,000 times faster than today, and future charging requirements will be 10,000 times higher than today.
As far as manufacturers are concerned, the safety of the high-power charging process, the longevity of the battery, and the weight and cost of the wires are the biggest challenges facing automotive engineers. The process involves charging the car, connecting the battery and connecting the driver controls.
How to beat EV anxiety:
From the charging interface, the battery is connected to the motor connection
TE hopes that customers can benefit from safe and stable connection solutions and enjoy the fun of electric speed. Connectivity (from power to drive) is a key factor in realizing the electric drive vision. TE's team of engineers and scientists work closely with customers and other technology leaders across the industry to focus on all aspects of connectivity, from car charging sockets to batteries to electrical mechanical parts...
